Your house is your paradise. Even if you face tons of problems outside, you know that you can go back to a place that makes you feel relaxed. However, your house does not make you feel good all the time. When you have problems with your family, you might start hating your place. If a tragic event happens, you might also never look at your home the same way again.
For some people, the most logical option is to leave and start a new life elsewhere. You do not need to do it. You can stay in your house and still have a new beginning. The best way to start is by cleaning the place and shaking everything up.
Make it unrecognizable
The reason why you feel terrible each time you see your house is that all the memories come flooding back. When you start moving things around, you will not recognize the place anymore. Before you know it, the house will not mean the same for you anymore, and it is a good thing. You are now ready to build new memories with the people you love and share the place with.
Remove old furniture and throw away everything you do not need. Keep the things that are important. Repaint the walls and change your lighting fixtures. You can also opt for deck removal if that area is not useful anymore. You can hire people to do it, and it does not take much time. Create a garden with all the plants you want. As long as you can maintain it, there is nothing wrong with desiring to have a garden. Make sure that once you finish shaking everything up, you feel like you are in a different place.
Do not hold back
When you start rearranging everything, you need to keep the things that you need. Throw away everything else. The biggest mistake is to keep some items because of their sentimental value. You want to let go, and you are also trying to release negative emotions. If you still keep some things because of their emotional value, you are not helping yourself move forward. Besides, you can purchase replacement items should you need them later.
Stay optimistic
You already overcame a painful chapter in your life. You managed to overcome it and now look forward to a new beginning. Even cleaning your house and reshaping it is already a significant step. Some people who have gone through a difficult phase have not had the courage to overcome it and continue their life. You are headed in the right direction, and you need to keep working hard until you achieve other goals in life.
You need to be courageous in facing changes and use this as a guiding philosophy in life. You cannot escape problems, but you can always have a new perspective so that you will not feel burdened forever. Make sure that in eliminating the negativities, you still keep the things that matter most to you.
