Why Table Mountain is one of the Seven Wonders of the World

Many may not know this, but Cape Town, South Africa, holds one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Located just off the shore of the beautiful city of Cape Town, the majestic mountain is unlike any other in the entire world, thus grabbing the title of one of nature’s wonders. Admired by tourists, Table Mountain has a few features that drew the attention of foreigners since it gained its title back in 2012. Here is what you need to know about this breathtaking spot with a rooftop that looks like the surface of a flat table.

During daylight hours, a cableway takes visitors from the base of the mountain to the very top, where a breathtaking and beautiful view of the city can be admired and photographed. Visitors are able to dine at the mountain’s café which is able to seat 110 guests, located on the very top of the mountain. When seated here, you can enjoy dining from an exquisite menu with some of South Africa’s favourite cuisines. A UNESCO Heritage Site UNESCO, a Paris-based organization, has declared Table Mountain a World Heritage site. The mountain is home to 1 460 species of Fynbos which is a site that forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom. Sunsets Over Table Mountain In the summer months (December – February in Cape Town) the sun sets as late as 9:30 to 10:00 PM.
