Celebrating International Women’s Day

February 24, 2021 //  by Anna//  Leave a Comment

International Women’s Day is coming up on 8 March. This day has been designed for us to reflect on progress made for women globally, as well as to celebrate acts of courage and determination on the part of ordinary women who have accomplished extraordinary achievements in their countries and communities. Furthermore, the day also gives us all an opportunity to think about how we can better the lives of women across the world and bring about equality for all women, regardless of where they live or what their background may be.

As we find ourselves turning a corner with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, many millions of people all around the world are waiting for vaccinations and social distancing measures remain in place and necessary in order to stop the spread of the virus. As a result, many International Women’s Day celebrations have been cancelled or postponed. However, there are ways that you can still observe the occasion, all without having to leave the house.

Support Female-Owned Businesses

By supporting female-owned businesses in any way, you are empowering female entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and perhaps employ other females, which in turn will empower them economically. There are plenty of female-owned businesses that operate online platforms, which means that you can shop right from the comfort of your own home and have your goods delivered, thus eliminating the need for contact with others.

Make A Donation To A Worthy Cause

If you are able to, consider making a donation to an organisation that supports women, no matter how big or small – every bit counts. Again, this can be done online without the need for contact with others.

By donating to an organisation dedicated to empowering women – whether with your own money or money you won when you visit https://www.betbigdollar.com/, you can help support women when they are at their most vulnerable so that they will be able to rise up once again and find themselves back on their feet. This will have a ripple effect and enable them to support and empower others.

Advocate For Women In The Workplace

One of the best places to help empower women is in the workplace or entrepreneurial space. By helping women advance in a place of work, you can enable them to hold higher positions, which has positive economic effects for the woman concerned, her family, other women in the workplace and their families too. If you happen to be in a position in which you have a say over the advancement of a female, encourage it. This sets a new precedent for management to consider, which will go a long way in making higher positions more accessible to females.

International Women’s Day is a wonderful day indeed. The opportunity to celebrate women should not be missed, nor should it be overlooked, especially when we all find ourselves in such challenging times. By supporting, donating to and advocating for women, you will be helping incredible women all across the world become empowered, which will help us move a tiny bit closer to that wonderous state of equality for all.
