Hi friends! I keep thinking of things I want to tell you guys — some things book-related, some not — but I get bummed out because they’re never quite big enough to warrant their own posts.
Whenever I get a chance, I think I’m going to start doing a “This Week in Review” post so I can chat anything and everything I wanted to share with you that week. What do you think?
Let’s try it out…
Gravity was so good you guys. I’ve never seen a movie that visually awe-inspiring.
You MUST see it in 3D, though. If you do, you get to wear cool glasses like me:
My friend Tara also took me with her this week for a free sneak preview of About Time. TIME TRAVEL MOVIE! It’s from the people who did Love Actually and Notting Hill:
It was beyond adorable, but we sobbed like babies. Bring hankies!
Also on the movie front: Did you see this behind-the-scenes video from the Vampire Academy movie?
I’m not gonna lie: I’m not feeling too positive about this one. I think it’s Dimitri’s hair that’s getting to me???
Are you guys going to watch? Everyone knows Clueless is the best Emma adaption there will ever be, but Mr. Knightley is cute, no?
Also worth watching? This hilarious prank pulled in a coffee shop for publicity on the Carrie horror movie remake.
AHAHA I laughed so hard. I’d have peed my pants if I were there. Scary!
A link you should definitely read: This link from Vulture in which a 30-something-year-old writer shares why she reads YA. “Adult books may be great literature, but they don’t make me feel the same way.” Such a great discussion — I wrote my own post like this awhile back.
I spent the week jamming out to my ladypower-themed playlist “Roar” on Spotify. Check it out and leave me suggestions of songs to add in the comments — must be female singers!
I read three books this week:
Playing Dirty by Jennifer Echols: So. Freaking. Good. If you like adult romances, her Stargazer series is such fun.
Crash Into You by Katie McGarry: This one is the third Pushing the Limits book. Isaiah actually grew on me, but how often he said “angel” did not. Review to come!
Stir Me Up by Sabrina Elkins: A new adult novel everyone was raving about on Twitter, so I thought I’d try it. Not really my cup of tea: Too much telling; not enough showing.
