A Peek at My Favorites Shelf

I’ve been meaning and meaning to share a picture of my favorites shelf with you guys for ages…and then my friend Tara from Hobbitsies shared hers a few months back, which reminded me…and then I forgot again.

But, I just recently redid it (gotta fit the newer faves in) — so I’m finally remembering to share!

Can you tell I am running out of room? Each little shelf is tripled up in layers of books. Then there are the piles of books just stacked places…and my to-read bookcase…

Anyway! On to the favorites. They’re along the top:

Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
Legend by Marie Lu
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers
Cinder by Marissa Meyer
The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith
Incarnate by Jodi Meadows
Stealing Heaven by Elizabeth Scott
Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols
Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard
Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Graceling by Kristin Cashore
Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley
For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund
Love and Other Perishable Items by Laura Buzo
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols
Where She Went by Gayle Forman
The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon (Review to come — gonna be a hit for Leigh Bardugo/Laini Taylor fans!)
Golden by Jessi Kirby

Three books are missing — Pride & Prejudice (obvs), Eleanor & Park (still need to buy a physical copy) and Just One Day (at my sister’s) — but you get the gist. And I forced myself to take out all the sequels…or this would be like 30% Richelle Mead books hahahaha. Well, with the exception of Where She Went because as much as I loved If I Stay, I loved the sequel even more!

Do you have a favorites shelf? What’s on it? Share in the comments — I’m curious!

I love that idea! I do have a shelf for my signed books, but I do think that I need to better organize my books. I love the idea of a favourites shelf, especially when I’m in the mood for a reread. It would be the perfect shelf to go to!

I thought the P.S. said “did you notice Tara” not “tiara”. BUT YES I noticed both!

I love the idea of a favorites shelf. I do not have one because my room is limited at the moment. But I do remember reading a short story memoir thing in college where the wife and husband had a favorites shelf in their bedroom where they both put together a few of their favorite and more meaningful titles. I loved that so much.

I love these shelves because you can kind of triple stack them. Otherwise I would be sitting on books instead of a sofa! ;)

    Thanks for sharing!

    Tiara, Tara…they’re synonymous, yes? :)

I actually don’t have a favorites shelf. I only keep my signed copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in my fireproof safe. Does that count?

Wow, our favorites shelves have quite a few in common :) I have a separate shelf for my signed books (which is overflowing) and a separate shelf for my favorites that aren’t signed (which is also overflowing). Okay, my whole bookcase is overflowing. Good thing I’m moving soon and getting customer bookshelves :D
Thanks for sharing your shelves! They’re gorgeous :)

This is such an adorable idea for a post! We definitely have quite a few favourites in common – Sloppy Firsts (And really the entire Jessica Darling series!), Legend, Cinder, Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour, etc. I’m a little too anal to separate my bookshelves into ‘favourites’ and non. Instead, mine are organized by spine design, colour and size. It’s a very complicated algorithm that only my very picky brain seems to understand :P

Your bookshelves look really great :) I also have to mention how much I adore that Mockingjay print. Very cute!

Love it! And I am so freaking excited that The Bone Season is on your favourites shelf because HELLO I can’t wait to read it.

Also, love The Hunger Games poster. I’ve been living in my “new” apartment for nearly a year now and I still don’t have any art hanging! I am lazy.

Yes, I have a favourites shelf too – it’s got a real mixture of books, from kids’ classics such as Anne of Green Gables and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, to cult classics (Neverwhere, Good Omens, Ready Player One) to coming-of-age stories like Tell the Wolves I’m Home and Before I Fall.

I love it! I do have a favorites shelf, one in NY and one in the Philippines. I’ve shared the NY one before, and I must say that we’ve got a LOT of books in common on there! The Philippines one, however, will be shared when I get home ;)
