Susane Colasanti’s Rules for Summer + Giveaway

Note from Anna: Today I’m joining Susane Colasanti’s “10 Rules for a Spectacular Summer” blog tour for her new book All I Need (a very summery read). We’re coming in today with rule #3, and it’s a good one! Check back later for my review of the book…and enter below to win your own copy!

Rule 3: Hit the beach

All I Need features summers down the shore. Skye is a summer girl at heart. She lives for summer, always hoping to meet the boy who will change her life forever. When she meets Seth at the last beach party of the summer, they both know theyโ€™ve found something real. That first summer at the beach is magical. So are all the others.

Summer just wouldnโ€™t be summer without the beach. If you donโ€™t live near an ocean, a lake or river beach will totally do. Backup plan: turn your backyard into a beach. Lounge chairs, beach towels, a kiddie pool, and a fresh stack of glossy magazines can make any day beach day. Slip โ€˜n Slide optional.

All I Need by Susane Colasanti book cover

All I Need synopsis:
The last night of summer is only the beginning.

Skye wants to meet the boy who will change her life forever. Seth feels their instant connection the second he sees her. When Seth starts talking to Skye at the last beach party of the summer, it’s obvious to both of them that this is something real. But when Seth leaves for college before they exchange contact info, Skye wonders if he felt the same way she did–and if she will ever see him again. Even if they find their way back to each other, can they make a long-distance relationship work despite trust issues, ex drama, and some serious background differences?

Teen favorite Susane Colasanti returns to the alternating-voice style of her beloved debut When It Happens in this Serendipity-inspired story about summer, soul mates, and the moments that change our lives forever.

I just try to stay cool in the summer. I’m a winter girl through and through. I like to hang out outside when it’s not too hot, though. When the weather isn’t extreme in either direction I’m always trying to get fresh air. I’d say I go to the beach, but it’d be a lie. I love the ocean, but hate sand. Alas.

    1. read while laying on a hammock. I am not a big fan of the beach, because my local beach is rocky. I guess I could drive a few extra minutes to go to the sandy beach, but I prefer my the hammock in my backyard with my dogs running around me.

    2. Smoothies!

My main summer rule is to always do something incredibly fun. I guess I’m hearkening back to my school days when summer = no responsibilities and I could just do whatever I wanted. In any case, fun times must happen. And I always go on at least one trip. ๐Ÿ™‚

Stay cool. I live in the desert, so staying cool and hydrated is a must. Also, plenty of ice cream and frozen yogurt. A stack of good books is also vital, especially when it’s too hot to sleep.
