Things I Like in Books 20

Awful drawings of things I like in books

NOTE: I am ridiculous and started a list called “Things I Like in Books.” These are drawings of the things on that list. Truly AWFUL drawings. I am now going to share them with you one at a time. Mostly on Saturdays. Okay, here we go.

I like it when there’s poison.

Examples: Poison Study by Maria v. Snyder and Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers are two favorites that come to mind. I always love assassin books, but when there’s poison involved, it’s always THAT MUCH MORE nefarious. Love it!

haha I do love assassination plot novels too! I have read Grave Mercy and really enjoyed it but I haven’t read the poison studies series yet.

Love the cute drawing that belies the terrifying nature of the poison :) I like the two books you mentioned as well.

Looove Grave Mercy! I really need to reread Poison Study. I read it year and years ago. I bet I’d appreciate it much more now.

I’m struggling to think of any books I’ve read recently that involve poison. I keep hearing amazing things about Grave Mercy though, so I’ll have to add it to the TBR list!

I second the recommendation of Poison by Bridget Zinn. It was awesome and there was an even more awesome pig in it!

I love the randomness of this particular thing. Poison is pretty interesting though – it makes for an intriguing book, especially when the characters try to figure out who is poisoning who.
