Waiting on Star Crossed by Jennifer Echols

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine to shine a spotlight on upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Star Crossed book cover

Star Crossed
By Jennifer Echols
Pocked Books, 384 pages
To be released Feb. 26, 2013

Wendy Mann loves her job rescuing celebrities from public relations scrapes. She grew up with nothing, and now she’s drawn to glitz, glamour, and a lighthearted lifestyle. She speaks her mind, so she’s just the tough cookie to tell stars the truth about how other people see them, even when they don’t want to hear it. But after six years at the top of her game, Wendy crosses the line. A star she was sent to save rebels against her and nearly gets her fired. To salvage her job, she must rehabilitate the career of a singing starlet with a penchant for posting inappropriate photos of herself and arguing online with her famous ex. Problem is, the ex is represented by Wendy’s arch nemesis from college, the hot and haughty Daniel Blackstone. And both stars are scheduled for a collision course on national television, broadcast live from Las Vegas.

Daniel’s uneasy when he hears Wendy Mann from his firm’s most hated competitor has been brought in to revive the career of his client’s ex-girlfriend. Daniel must win at any cost. And if he has to seduce Wendy to smooth the way to their partnership, he’s willing to sacrifice himself for the cause. But Daniel doesn’t count on the scorching heat between them—and when they get to Vegas, all bets are off.

— Goodreads.com description

This isn’t YA, but it’s JENNIFER ECHOLS. She’s one of my all-time favorite authors, so this one’s on auto-read. Plus, take a moment to think of all the romantic tension she brings to her YA books. Now imagine how it’ll be in adult books. Yeah. EXACTLY. Cannot wait!!!

I enjoyed Such a Rush but I haven’t read anything else by Echols. I might like her adult intended fiction better than her YA :)

THAT will be AWESOME, I think. I’m quite hot/cold with J. Echols books, but I have renewed faith after reading Going Too Far, because AH. That book was hotness. Plus, celebs? YES.

I think it’s interesting to see these YA authors make the jump to adult – I’ll be watching to see what everyone thinks (will it really be that different? etc.). Nice pick!

I have mixed feelings about Jennifer Echols. I loved Major Crush. Loved it. But then I read Love Story, and really disliked it. I have read one other YA books by her, The One That I Want, which I liked, but didn’t love.

I will probably look into this one though, because it does sound pretty awesome.

    Thanks for sharing :)

I think Echols has always written some steamy scenes in her YA so I’m really excited to see what she does when let loose in the adult category!
