NOTE: I am ridiculous and started a list called “Things I Like in Books.” These are drawings of the things on that list. Truly AWFUL drawings. I am now going to share them with you one at a time. Mostly on Saturdays. Okay, here we go.
I like it when romantic interests bicker a LOT before they fall for each other.
Examples: Darcy and Lizzie style, yo! I’m talking classic Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen moves here!

I’m torn on this one-I LOVE Elizabeth and Darcy of course but sometimes other authors aren’t very good at bringing through the love and I end up dissatisfied with the switching of opinions.

Hahaha that made me crack up! So true, I LOVE it when they bicker and fight and then the likeness creep in and have a love/hate relationship. Daemon and Kitty from Obsidian are like that! And yes, Darcey and Lizzie!!!!! <3 My favorite couple
I LOVE this post

Hermoine and Ron are another good example. I can like this, too, but it depends on it being done well. It’s become such a cliche that if two people of the opposite sex hate each other, it must be because of underlying sexual tension and some books and TV shows use it as a lazy way of showing that their characters are meant to be together. But when it really works and it makes sense why the characters would both be attracted to and aggravated by the other person – like in Castle – then, I love it.

Oh the genius of Jane Austen! She knew we’d all love this! She also knew we’d all love Mr Darcy! Such a smart smart lady!
