Things I Like in Books 7

Awful drawings of things I like in books

NOTE: I am ridiculous and started a list called “Things I Like in Books.” These are drawings of the things on that list. Truly AWFUL drawings. I am now going to share them with you one at a time. Mostly on Saturdays. Okay, here we go.

I like it when it’s NOT a series. Closure: It can be a good thing.

Latest example: Love and Other Perishable Items by Laura Buzo. Don’t get me wrong…I am DYING to know what happens to these characters next. But there’s something to be said about being left hanging, too!

i, too, am a fan of the standalone. series are great but sometimes you just need a good solid book that stands on its own.

Haha I can’t agree more! Series are great, but standalone books win! They give you the sense of finality and something left hanging in the air. I love it. :)

Yes, yes, yes! I agree. I love the simplicity of a standalone.

Oh yes, I agree with you. Series can be great, but also they can drag the story out too long, or continue past the natural stopping point. Standalones tell the story, then when it’s done, it stops. Simples!

Sometimes, it is EXTREMELY refreshing to read a stand alone book. It’s the perfect combination of amazing story with a perfect conclusion ;)
